COACH TODD POWERS (e-Mail Coach Powers)

Todd saw his first Lacrosse game in High School at The Mercersburg Academy. "I saw these guys running up and down the field with sticks and I was immediately intrigued. The more I watched the more I knew I wanted to play. I found a broken old stick that was left behind, taped it back together and started playing by throwing a tennis ball against the wall. I was hooked."

While attending Grove City College Todd co-founded the school's Lacrosse Club in 1993. "It took four years of hard work to gain the administrations acceptance, generate interest, and raise the funds needed to get the club up and running by our senior year. Playing the first game made it all worthwhile. Not to mention the satisfaction of knowing the lasting impact the club has had on everyone that has played since then and will get to play in the future." To this day the Lacrosse Club remains one of the most successful club sports on Campus.

Todd first learned of the plans for Lacrosse in Erie shortly after relocating here from Pittsburgh in 1999. "I met Jeff and Henry at an organizational meeting in early 2000 and told them I wanted to be involved in any way that I could. I saw their vision and recognized their desire to develop and expand Lacrosse here in Erie. I am very excited about where we
have come from and even more excited about the direction we are going!"

During the day you will find Todd at his business -Todd M. Powers State Farm Insurance- on Peach Street. There Todd and his office team provide a wide array of Insurance and Financial Service products. Todd and his team recently earned the "Chairmen's Circle" distinction for their successes, distinguishing them as one of the top agencies in the country. "I have been very blessed. If it weren't for my amazing team at the office I wouldn't be able to commit as much of my time to the team on the field and to the game I love."

Todd has since become the head coach for McDowell Men's Lacrosse.
